William "Bill" Berry Fithian, 74, passed away at 1:00 pm on Friday, December 27, 2013. Bill was born on November 4, 1939 in Gibson County, Indiana the son of Paris Elden and Lillian "Bonnie" (Berry) Fithian.Bill was a graduate of Hazelton High School and attended Vincennes University. He spent his life working in the banking and financing industry starting at Gibson County Bank and then he served as President of Vincennes Savings and Loan and United Federal Bank. He then was Credit Manager for Thompson Chemicals and retired from the F.D.I.C in Chicago, IL. Bill was a longtime member of the Vincennes Jaycee's; a member of the Patoka Masonic Lodge for fifty years and a Hadi Shrine member for several years. Bill was an avid baseball enthusiast as well as a St. Louis Cardinals fan.Survivors include his wife, Betty Fithian of Vincennes; sons, Jason Fithian and his wife Regina of Vincennes, Lance Fithian and his wife Carmel of Singapore; brother, Robert Fithian and his wife Nori of San Rafael, CA and grandchildren, Matthew Fithian, Paris Fithian, Ozzy Fithian, Max Fithian, and Jack Fithian.Graveside services will be held at 2:15 pm on Monday, December 30, 2013 in Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Dan Clemens officiating. Entombment will follow in Tower II Mausoleum. Friends may visit with Bill's family on Monday from 12:00 until 2:00 pm at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Good Samaritan Hospice, First Baptist Church Building Fund or the Vincennes Lincoln Athletic Department.
