SPC James Wilkerson Will Gardner age 22 died Monday April 10, 2006 in Iraq while serving with the U.S. Army. The Glasgow native was a member of the 101st Airborne, U.S. Army stationed in Iraq. Will is the son of James H. and Anne Klapheke Gardner of Glasgow. He was a 2002 graduate of Glasgow High School and was a member of the Columbia Ave. Church of Christ in Glasgow. He joined the Army in March 2003 and arrived at Fort Campbell in December 2003. His awards and decorations included: Weapons Qualification, M4 expert; Army Service Ribbon; Army Commendation Medal; National Defense Service Medal; Iraqi Campaign Medal; and Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.\n\nIn addition to his parents he is survived by his wife Lisa Roberts-Gardner of Clarksville, TN and step daughters Taylor and Brooklyn Roberts of Clarksville, TN; a brother Sam Gardner of Glasgow and a sister Carly Gardner of Glasgow; his paternal grandparents John and Jean Gardner of Louisville, KY; Maternal grandmother Lillian Klapheke of Louisville, KY and numerous aunts and uncles including Cheryl Berry Ambach of Glasgow. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather William Thomas Klapheke.\n\nFuneral services will be held at 3:00pm Wednesday April 19, 2006 at the Columbia Ave. Church of Christ in Glasgow with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Columbia Ave. Church of Christ on Tuesday from 2:00pm until 8:00pm. A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Expressions of sympathy may be made to a memorial scholarship fund in Wills name in care of Edmonton State Bank in Glasgow.\n\nAn Eagle Remembrance Ceremony will be held at Ft. Campbell on May 3rd at 7:00pm and is open to the public.
