Elroy 'Roy' Shirley 78 of Glasgow passed away Friday, February 22, 2013 at T. J. Samson Community Hospital. Born in Metcalfe County Aug. 6, 1934, he was the son of the late Curt and Laura Janes Shirley. He was a member of Prices Creek Missionary Baptist Church and a former employee of Ben & Elmer.\n\nSurvivors include his wife Wanda Laverne Shirley; 5 sons Glenn (Carolyn) of Edmonton, Gary (Bonnie) and Earl (Michelle) of Glasgow, Stevie (Karen) of Upton and Ricky Shirley of Munfordville; 1 daughter Doris Shirley of Glasgow; 5 grandchildren Brian (Sarah) Shirley, Travis (Marsha) Shirley, April (Anthony) Jackson, Melissa and Anthony Shirley; 3 great-grandchildren Dalton and Noah Shirley and Hayden Shirley; 5 step-children Avery Glen Shirley, Jeff Shirley, Judy (Jeff) Rasdall, Brenda (Noah) Crain and Connie (Danny) Sturgeon; 7 step-grandchildren and 7 step-great grandchildren; 5 brothers, Junior (Shirley Jean), Fred (Jeanine), Earl Dunham (Imogene), Charles and Philip (Margaret) Shirley all of Glasgow; 3 sisters Dee Burris, Christine Bennett and Brenda (Clifton) Smith all of Glasgow; 4 sisters-in-law Nancy Shirley, Laverne Hines, Wilton Stuart and Joyce Bragg. \n\nHe was preceded in death by his first wife Verda Bragg Shirley in 1990, a daughter Carolyn Ann Suits, 3 brothers David, Bobby and James Shirley and a sister Pauline Shirley.\n\nFuneral services will be 1pm Tuesday at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Bragg Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 12 Noon Monday.
